The author, Intan, writes about her experience dining at Al Adhamiyah, an Iraqi restaurant in Doha, Qatar. She was drawn in by the traditional decor and ordered a dish called Lamb Qouzi (or Lamb Ouzi), which is a braised lamb over spiced rice, along with sides of okra stew and white bean stew. The lamb was tender and flavorful, and the sides went well with it. After the meal, she was served a typical Middle Eastern milk pudding called Mahalabiya and Iraqi tea flavored with cardamom.
