Healthcare is at the top of everyone’s agenda these days. As the debate over how to provide care rages, the question of who is going to provide that care continues. New doctors, new treatments, new therapies and equipment make it more challenging and more important to keep up with the latest developments.

In a complex field, filled with complex issues, we went to the expert—our city’s medical community—for advice. The result is our sixth annual survey of the best doctors in San Antonio.

We asked more than 4,000 of Bexar County’s most experienced physicians which of their peers would they send their family members to for care. They came back with nearly 1,000 names. This year’s list is the most comprehensive ever, featuring more than 80 specialties, including new ones such as dermatopathology and pediatric gastroenterology, to help you find exactly the right doctor to meet your needs.
